Wednesday 25th March

Hello to our beautiful community,

I hope you are all well and enjoying spending this time with your family. I have not been in school today, like you I have been working from home. It is very strange not seeing you all everyday. All of the staff say a big hello to each and every one of you.

Have you created a rainbow for your window? I have one in mine, and I noticed that a few of my neighbours have one as well. I created some rainbows with my nieces and nephew at the weekend, and lots of your teachers and teaching assistants have been busy creating rainbows with their own children. Mrs Parker’s son painted his hands and his pirate sword in the process!

You could also do some research about rainbows:

  • How many colours are there in a rainbow?

  • What colours are in rainbow?

  • Are there any easy ways to remember the order of colours in a rainbow?

  • How are rainbows formed?

  • Why are children across the country putting rainbows in their windows during this time?

When we all return to school, I would like you to bring your rainbows with you so we can create a giant display to celebrate that we are all back together again. Mr Brady is very artistic and I know he will enjoy putting all of your rainbows together. Even better, you could bring in a photograph of you creating the rainbow or of the rainbow in your window, we can add that to the display also.

Thank you for all your emails, we love hearing from you. Science has certainly been a hit in many of your homes - with lots of children searching the house for materials with different properties in year two.

Stay safe. We miss you.
