Friday 4th July

Happy ‘bubble’ Friday everyone! Children, staff and parents all enjoyed our bubbles this morning - the weather conditions were really good for bubble blowing and there were bubbles floating everywhere. Sadly, we only have one more bubble Friday left until the summer break as we break up on a Thursday. To make up for it we are going to have ‘Fancy Dress Thursday’ on the 16th July. I will be sure to share the crazy outfit choices with you.

Families, we have digested the government guidance and will be continuing with our planning next week. In the near future, expect a rather long letter explaining how we plan to bring all of our wonderful children back in September whilst continuing to keep everyone safe. During the last week of term we will be sending out your child’s report for this academic year (until the point of closure). We will also let you know who you child’s teacher will be for the next academic year.

What has been going on at Olive Hill this week:

  • On Tuesday and Wednesday Mr Priest and Miss Walters conducted interviews for our new class teachers. More about that next week.

  • Today we conducted interviews for permanent phase leaders and a permanent level 3 teaching assistant. These candidates were all internal (this means they already work at Olive Hill and may have been doing the job already, but on a temporary basis). More about that next week.

  • Mr Patel now has cupboard to hide all of his IT equipment - honestly children, I have never seen so many leads!

  • One of our year 4/5 keyworker bubbles delivered our weekly quiz today, unfortunately I missed it due to interviews. Hopefully they will send me their questions so I can have a go.

  • Mr Holder delivered a virtual assembly - he even played a video! Very technical!

  • I keep seeing the staff doing some silly things on the bottom field , something about a video for the children. Watch this space!

  • Margo and Oreo have slept a lot - I think they are missing the fuss you all make of them. As adults, I think we bore them. Although I have noticed that all of the staff stop and talk to them (they’ve not answered back yet).

  • The staff have really been enjoying finding out about the interests of the children in their magical bubbles. One child is a MASSIVE fan of The Beatles and there has been some great music in their bubble.

I must go now children. Mr Weston is currently looking after another school as well, so he is really busy and I want to make sure he can leave a little bit earlier tonight. It is always me holding him up, I get very carried away with writing the blog and often forget the time.

Have a fantastic weekend all. We miss you. Stay safe.
