Friday 31st January
Happy Friday/Sunday!
I apologise for the late blog today. I had forgotten to click save and publish on Friday evening and therefore this has been sitting in my drafts over the weekend!
This week has been full of shared learning opportunities across the school. Enrichment sessions returned on Friday, and the children were thrilled to reconnect with friends from different year groups as we split into our 16 groups. This cycle, our four focus areas are Leadership and Personal Development, Creative and Performing Arts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and Global Citizenship and Cultural Awareness. The children I am sure will be keen to tell you what they did in each of their sessions.
I was particularly excited this time as I had the opportunity to run an enrichment session myself. The children in my group were fantastic at supporting the younger pupils, and there was a real buzz of excitement in the air.
Shared English learning has also been a highlight this week. Year one visited Reception to share their retellings of Where the Wild Things Are. Each child read their story to a Reception buddy, who then got to take it home—a lovely way to celebrate their hard work.
Meanwhile, Year five impressed Miss Raphael with their Dragon’s Den-style pitches for new Leonardo da Vinci-inspired inventions. She was blown away by their creativity and the quality of their work.
Finally, a polite reminder about the importance of being respectful and considerate towards all members of staff. We understand that concerns may arise from time to time, and we encourage open communication. However, we kindly ask that any discussions take place in a calm and respectful manner so that we can work together to find positive solutions.
I hope you have had a lovely weekend and we look forward to welcoming you back to school in the morning.
