Friday 28th February
Happy Friday!
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break. It’s been wonderful to see the school buzzing with activity again as we settle back into our routines.
On Monday evening, I had the pleasure of watching our girls' football team in action. They showed fantastic teamwork and resilience on the pitch, winning one game and putting in a strong effort in two close matches that didn’t go our way. Regardless of the results, I was incredibly proud of their sportsmanship and determination. Their enthusiasm and teamwork were clear to see, and they represented our school brilliantly. A huge well done to all the players and thank you to the staff and parents who came along to support!
Tuesday marked an exciting milestone for our Year 3 children as they began their swimming lessons. Learning to swim is such an essential life skill, not only for safety but also for fitness and fun. It was wonderful to see the children’s enthusiasm as they took to the pool, and I know they will continue to build confidence in the water over the coming weeks.
This week, we also recognised the start of Ramadan with a thoughtful and informative assembly led by Mrs. Higgins. This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to learn more about this important time for our Muslim community, understanding the significance of fasting, prayer, and reflection. It’s always heart-warming to see the way our school embraces different cultures and traditions, fostering respect and understanding amongst all our children.
Today, we were treated to a fantastic musical performance from our Olive Hill Wind Band, led by the incredibly talented Raphael family band. The energy and enthusiasm they brought to their music was infectious, and it was a joy to see so many pupils engaged and inspired by their performance. Music is such an important part of our school, and events like this remind us of the joy and creativity it brings to our community. Well done to all the musicians involved and thank you to the Miss Raphael and her mum and dad for sharing their passion and talent with us!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
