Friday 17th January

 Happy Friday!

What a wonderful week it has been at Olive Hill. Our classrooms have been buzzing with activity, and it’s been a joy to see our children so engaged in their learning.

Thank you to all our families who supported us on census day on Thursday. We had lots of children come through for school dinners. There was great anticipation as the children looked for a winning sticker on their box.

Today’s assembly focused on World Religion Day, and it was a truly enriching experience for everyone. Together, we explored the importance of understanding, respecting, and celebrating the diverse beliefs and cultures within our world and even within our school community. It’s so inspiring to see our pupils showing empathy and openness as they learn about each other’s religious beliefs.

Today we also had a special visit from Miss Grasby and baby Anwen, who popped in to see us this afternoon. The children were incredibly excited to see them both and I know Miss Grasby appreciated you all stopping by to say hello at the end of the day.

We said goodbye for now to Miss Homer this afternoon as she heads off on maternity leave. We do hope that she gets a couple of weeks rest before welcoming her baby. We will miss Miss Homer while she is away, but I know you will join me in wishing her the very best.

To ensure all pupils feel a sense of belonging and pride in being part of Olive Hill, we kindly remind parents and carers to help make sure children come to school in the correct uniform each day. This includes:

  • ·    Charcoal grey trousers or skirt (these should be tailored and skirts of a suitable length)

  • ·         White Polo shirt

  • ·         Royal blue jumper or cardigan (these can be purchased from the school office if you wish to have the school logo on them)

  • ·         Headscarves in grey, black or royal blue

  • ·         Hair accessories in white, royal blue, grey or black

  • ·         Socks or tights in plain white, royal blue, grey or black

  • ·         Plain black shoes or white, blue or black sandals during the summer (plain black trainers are permitted)

  • ·         Summer dresses are to be royal blue and white for the summer

  • ·         Charcoal grey tailored shorts during the summer

  • ·         If earrings are worn, these should be small studs that can be removed for PE.

We do have a large selection of pre-loved uniform. If you are interested in looking at this, then please speak to a member of the office staff.

Have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
