Tuesday 14th July

Hello, again! I hope you’ve had a lovely Tuesday.

This morning, I started yesterday’s blog with a quote from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Written in 1865 by the author Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a young girl named Alice, who falls through a rabbit hole into a subterranean fantasy world populated by peculiar creatures. Have you read it?

I particularly like another quote from the book, ‘You’re mad, bonkers, completely off your head. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.’

I certainly feel a bit ‘bonkers’ today. There is just so much to do, and so little time in which to do it all. The staff at Olive Hill are working ever so hard to prepare for your return in September. I hope you are as excited as we are about your return.

This week your NEW class teachers are calling you. How fabulous is that! I know that they have enjoyed speaking to you. You will also be receiving your report. Some of you may be lucky enough to spot members of staff as they deliver your reports. make sure you give them a wave.

Miss Walters has now completed the challenge of lunchtimes at Olive Hill. I have a rather complicated timetable in front of me. You will be okay, as you only need to remember when you are going for lunch. I on the other hand, I have to remember the staggered times for all seven year groups. Bonkers!

Families, we only have a short amount of time until the end of this ‘bonkers’ academic year. If you would like to get in contact with us, for what ever reason, then please do. Both the info@ and children@ email accounts will be monitored until 2.30pm on Friday. Our lovely office staff are also in school until the end of this week. We love hearing from you.

I must go now. We miss you all. Stay safe.

I have asked the staff at Olive Hill if they have any favourite quotes from children’s books. Here are a selection:

The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.
— Mrs Shinner's favourite quote from Peter Pan
Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light.
— Miss Best's favourite quote from Harry Potter

— Mr Brady's favourite quote from Harry Potter
It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.
