Thursday 25th June

Hello everyone. It certainly is a hot one today. We have only been able to go outside for short periods of time because the heat is so intense. I think many of our children will be running home to jump in their paddling pools (that is what they have told me anyway). I don’t have a paddling pool, but I would certainly like one.

I hope you have been enjoying the quiz this week. My dad reads the blog everyday and he phoned me yesterday to tell me off about the state of my boot! He said he knew which one was mine straight away because it was the messiest.

Here are the answers for yesterday’s ‘Whose boot is it?’:

1) Mr Brady

2) Miss Clarke

3) Miss Richardson

4) Miss Thacker

5) Miss Macaskill

6) Miss Jenkins

7) Mrs White

8) Mr Priest

9) Miss Cooper

10) Mrs Waters

11) Miss Shinner

12) Mr Holder

How many did you get correct? I know that you all know the staff really well, so I have a sneaky suspicion that many of you will have scored top marks!

I promised you that I would share some funny pictures with you today. The staff at Olive Hill are a great team and they have lots of fun together. Between you and me, sometimes they can be a bit silly and when I asked them to take a picture of the boot of their car there was some silliness and I have evidence to prove it.

I hope the photographs make you smile, I certainly did when I looked at them. The last few months have not been easy for anyone, everyone has experienced huge changes to their lifestyle and lived with the worry of Covid19. I think it is brilliant that we are still able to have fun and laugh as it is really important for our mental health. If you have any funny photographs, we would love to see them. Email us at: children@olive.dudley.sch.uk

Enjoy those paddling pools. We miss you. Stay safe.

If you thought Miss Thacker was silly for putting Margo and Oreo in the boot of her car, think again. Just look at what Mrs Bird found in her boot!

Mrs Mariott caught Mr Priest having a quick tidy of his boot before he took a photograph. Apparently he threw everything onto the back seat!

Mrs Stonehouse doesn’t drive, so she looked inside a boot that you wear. I am pretty sure she was looking for chocolate and was rather disappointed when she didn’t find any.

This isn’t anything to do with car boots, but it does relate to vehicles (well, sort of). Mr Weston has been very busy painting our halls and he needed to hire a lift to reach the top of the walls - he has been driving it around our corridors and some how managed to get it through the small hall door. I just hope he can get it back out!
