Friday 8th November
Happy Friday!
We hope all our families had a wonderful half term break and enjoyed spending some time making memories.
It has been lovely to have the children back and feeling refreshed after the holiday. Year one had an exciting start to this half term with a Lego workshop on Wednesday. They had the chance to showcase their learning about buildings in the local area and were shown how to make a secure structure. They really enjoyed making their own houses and adding their own personal designs to their town.
Today it was lovely to see everyone enjoying our scarecrow festival and there was a real buzz of excitement at the beginning and the end of the day. The children (and staff) have been working on their creations throughout this week. Our scarecrows were as follows:
Nursery – Incy wincy spider
Reception – The big bad wolf and the three little pigs
Year 1 – Forky and Mr Potato Head
Year 2 – Paddington Bear and Aunt Lucy
Year 3 – Two Celt warriors
Year 4 – Recycling Ria and David Attenborough
Year 5 – A Victorian teacher and a student
Year 6 – Bear Grylls and a huge spider
SLT – Dougal from the Magic Roundabout
This week we sent out a letter with all the key dates for this half term as we want to give you plenty of notice about all the wonderful things happening at school. If you have not received this via Parent Mail, then please do come and speak to the office.
Our Christmas fayre will be held after school on Wednesday 4th December. If any of our community would like a stall at the event, please collect a form from the school office.
Today we have launched our new ‘Home Learning Menus’ and the children are looking forward to creating something off of their list. We look forward to seeing what the children produce.
We hope you have a lovely weekend!
