Friday 8th April

Happy Friday!

Happy first day of your Easter holidays! We hope that some of you enjoyed a lie in this morning. For the staff of Olive Hill, it has been business as usual for one more day.

It is hard to believe that we are now two thirds of the way through the academic year. Despite the continued disruption of the Covid19 pandemic, we have remained open for all of our children and we are now moving into the next phase of learning to live with the virus.

The final week of term has been super busy! Many of our children have taken to the stage to share their learning through performance. We have all been very impressed with their outcomes, despite having a number of years away from the limelight, our budding actors and actresses have really wowed their audience. Thank you to everyone who has come along to support the children. For those veteran parents and carers I hope, like us, you can see what a difference having the space to perform in has made to the quality of the performance. They do say that every day is a learning day and that has certainly been the case for us throughout the pandemic.

Yesterday we saw the return of our Easter event, where our younger children are invited to wear an Easter bonnet and our older children invited to design a scene using eggs. The designs were all incredibly imaginative and impressive, featuring the likes of Spiderman, Egg Sheeran, Ghost Busters and even our own guinea pigs! Well done to the winners of the competitions from each class. Thankfully, the weather stayed dry for our parade in the afternoon, even if the children had to hold on very tightly to their bonnets in the wind. Thank you to all the families who joined us to mark the occasion and celebrate the children’s handiwork and thank you to all the adults who supported the children in making their creations.

This week we have also seen some very tired children (and staff). You just know it is time for a holiday! We hope that everyone has a wonderful next two weeks, with plenty of quality time to spend as a family. We look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 25th April.

Stay safe.
