Friday 5th June

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have all had a wonderful week and I also hope you have all been attempting your online learning. I know that many of you have spoken with your teacher this week, and I have enjoyed hearing about the conversations you have been having with them.

Thank you for all of the letters and pictures you have been sending into school, everyday the staff eagerly await the special mail from our special post box. Each morning Miss Lee unlocks the box, sorts the letters and leaves them in a tray outside of the classroom. The staff then collect the letters from the tray - they love to see what has arrived and in each of our mini-staff rooms there is growing collection of pictures on display.

Have I told you that at the moment we have five staff rooms, rather then one? This is because the staff now need to work in smaller teams, but it is really important that they are comfortable and feel valued.

The Green School staff have made the Chestnut Room their staff room, Mrs Hamblett is very organised and she has provided lots of containers for the (many) biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar. Miss Richardson likes to decorate the fridge with your pictures and Miss Thacker was delighted when the microwave arrived as she was getting rather bored of eating salad.

The Red School staff have made Oak Class their staff room. They have a HUGE amount of cakes and chocolate, there appears to be another packet of something everyday. I think the chocolate might all belong to Mrs Stonehouse. Mrs Waldron even bought in her iron, this was to iron all of your learning packs as they looked a bit crumpled when they came out of the washing machine.

The Yellow School staff have made the KS1 library their staff room. They have a fruit bowl in their room with lots of healthy bananas and strawberries. Mrs Higgins made the staff a cake today - they all told me how delicious it was, but I didn’t get a slice.

The Blue School staff have made an area of the EYFS environment their staff room. They have a lovely tray of treats! They are even sitting at the little tables and chairs to eat, but they do have the biggest fridge in the school.

The Infrastructure Team are using the actual staff room for their base, including the lovely new workspace Mr Weston has built. It is quite a big space, for just a few members of staff, and we are missing having everyone else in there with this. We used to meet as a whole staff team every Monday and Thursday morning in the staff room, but now we have to do it virtually.

All of the staff seem pretty happy with their new spaces - they have lots of yummy treats, a kettle, a microwave, a toaster - in fact, all they need now is a bed and they could live in school! Don’t forget to send us pictures to decorate the staff rooms, the staff are quite competitive and they all want to have lots of pictures that remind them of you.

So you know which staff are in which school I have made a list below:

Green School: Mrs Walters, Mrs Hamblett, Miss Raphael, Miss Thacker, Miss Homer, Miss Richardson and Mr Brady.

Red School: Mr Priest, Mrs Waters, Miss Clarke, Mrs Brady, Mrs Stonehouse, Miss Macaskill, Miss Homer and Miss Waldron.
