Wednesday 6th May

Happy Wednesday everyone. The sun is back out!

Today we have a blog quiz … you will need to match the staff member with their favourite children’s film. You may, or may not have heard of some of them.

One of my favourite films is Finding Nemo. I watched it for the first time as a young teacher - we were on our way back from a residential in France, it was close to midnight and everyone was asleep on the bus, I sat there howling with laughter until I woke the headteacher up! As a child my sister’s favourite film was ‘Free Willy’, it is film about a boy who rescues a killer whale - she used to watch it over and over and over and over again!

What is your favourite film? Due to the Covid19 response, cinemas have been closed - I was really looking forward to seeing the new Peter Rabbit movie. I was hoping to take my niece, as like her mum she likes to re-watch things, she has watched the first Peter Rabbit movie over and over and over again and as enjoyable as it is, I think she needs a change. Do you watch movies over and over again? Some of the Olive Hill staff do, Mrs Waters says she can remember every single word of her favourite film.

Did you know that Disney’s Tangled is one of the most expensive animated movies ever! And, Toy Story often comes out on top of any popularity contest. I also found out that every scene in Pocahontas was rewritten at least 35 times! Children of Olive Hill - remember that fact the next time your teacher suggests you change something in your writing.

Drum roll please … it is now time for the quiz. Can you match the member of staff to their favourite film?

  • Miss Richardson’s favourite movie is set in Ancient Polynesia. The main character answers the call of the ocean to seek out the Demigod and set things right. The songs are really catchy.
