Wednesday 13th May
Hello you lovely lot! How are you all today?
I have had a few more virtual meetings today, and I just want to tell you about one in particular - we had a virtual meeting with the majority of staff at Olive Hill. It is the first time we have all been in one place (even if it was on screen) for nearly eight weeks. Just like we miss all of you, we also miss each other.
We started the meeting by thanking everyone for all of their hard work and dedication to the school and our community. Miss Best then showed us her baby bump - it is really big now and it won’t be long until she has her baby; unfortunately we couldn’t see Miss Jenkins on the screen, but she has told us that her and bump are both doing well. Mr Patel showed us how long his hair has got; Mrs White had done her make-up and nails especially for the meeting; Miss Richardson introduced us all to MoJo; someone had a dog who was barking; someone else had a child who thought we were their nanny; Mr Priest went to check that the staff who were in school today were all 2 metres apart - honestly children, he went into the classroom waving a metre stick about, we could all see what was happening on the screen and it did make us all laugh. We could hear Mrs Waters, but we couldn’t see her and even Mr Weston made an appearance. There were so many people in the conference that I couldn’t see all of the names at the bottom of my screen, Mr Priest gave me his phone so I could see all the participants but that then died - so when I was trying to say hello to everyone and I did forget some people. I am slightly worried about my memory. All in all, it was great meeting and so good to see everyone. They all say a massive hello to all of you.
Some of you may have received a special delivery today. As you can see from the blog picture, we sent some members of staff on an adventure today - Miss Thacker, Miss Raphael, Mrs Stonehouse and Miss Macaskill all packed their bags full of brown envelopes and became postal ladies for the day. I know that some of you were lucky enough to see them as they delivered your letter. We hope you and your families find some comfort in the contents. We couldn’t expect the staff to walk all over Dudley, Sandwell and Birmingham so we have put some letters in the post, for the Royal Mail to deliver. Now you know why I had to dash to buy stamps the other day. Fingers crossed, it should arrive within the next few days.
Stay safe everyone
