Friday 19th June
Happy ‘bubble’ Friday! This morning the school staff had great fun welcoming the children with lots of bubbles - I am sure the children had fun also.
We’ve come to the end of another week, and now only have four weeks left until the start of the summer holidays. We certainly all have much to reflect on and hopefully lots to look forward to.
We love hearing about what you have been doing at home. Thank you for all of your emails, phone calls and special post. Apart from ‘Bubble Friday’ there have been lots of other things going on in school this week:
Mr Weston has been painting the large hall. He is doing a great job and it is looking much better. He was unable to reach the top of the walls with the ladder, so we have hired a special lift for him to use. Mr Weston is very much enjoying going up and down in the lift, I can hear the beeping from my office.
Our year one children have been following instructions to make a Forky. They were great at following the instructions and I was very impressed by the outcome. Unfortunately they then disappeared and there was a big campaign to find them, with lots of missing posters around the school. Eventually they were found in the library.
Our weekly quiz was hosted by the year 4/5 keyworker group this week. They put a fantastic quiz together for us. There was a Harry Potter round, a round about toys and a round about the Olive Hill logo. I did get all of the questions right in the logo round.
Year six have been busy doing some tornado art. The children and the adults have been totally engrossed in what they are doing - they have been so quiet you wouldn’t have known they were in school. And I know how noisy those adults can be!
Today all of key worker children had a lovely surprise. The Salvation Army donated lots of muffins to the school for the children. They were HUGE and came in a variety of flavours: white chocolate and lemon; blueberry; chocolate and sticky toffee. A BIG thank you to the salvation army for thinking of us.
I must dash now. Mr Weston has been working so hard with the painting, I do not want him to be waiting around for me all evening. All of the school staff say a big hello and send you a virtual hug.
Have a great weekend. We miss you.
Stay safe.
