Friday 11th April

Happy Friday!

We hope you are enjoying the first day of the holidays. Staff in school have been carrying out their own learning today but are now ready to head home and enjoy the sunshine!

We certainly started this week with a bang! The hall was alive with music and energy as our Rocksteady bands took to the stage. It was a real treat to see our talented children perform with such confidence and joy, impressing not only their peers but also the adults who came along to cheer them on. What a brilliant celebration of music and teamwork!

Year 5 added even more colour and excitement to the week with their vibrant Mexican Day on Monday. The children had the opportunity to sample some delicious Mexican-style food, and the whole playground came alive with a giant Mexican wave! They also proudly invited their adults into school to share their fantastic learning and showcase the beautiful scarves they had created, inspired by Mexican designs. The creativity and enthusiasm was wonderful to see.

Elsewhere in school, Reception, Year one and Year six welcomed their adults in for their amazing exhibitions. Each year group put together a showcase of their learning – from artwork to writing, DT models to live acting – and the pride on the children’s faces said it all. It’s always so special to give our families the chance to celebrate the learning journey with us.

We rounded off the term yesterday with our whole-school assembly, a time to come together and reflect on all we’ve achieved. A highlight was singing one of our all-time favourites – ‘Spring Chicken’ – with plenty of enthusiasm and some very impressive actions! The children also brought in their egg characters and egg scenes, and the creativity on display was simply egg-cellent! From superheroes to storybook characters, the designs were imaginative, detailed, and so much fun to explore.

What a fantastic end to the term! Thank you to all the staff, children and families for your ongoing support. Wishing you all a restful and happy break and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Monday 28th April!
